This article describes the younger generations declining interest in Facebook. Teenagers want to participate in social media apart from their parents and that has become increasingly more difficult as more and more adults are joining the Facebook community. As a result, many tweens and teens are moving to apps such as Instagram and Snapchat. Do you think these other apps are overshadowing Facebook?

Many teenagers don't understand the purpose of Facebook. They think Facebook is a way to vent about someone or to get attention. Many older people are joining Facebook to keep in touch with others which drives teenagers away from Facebook. Their parents can see what their kids post on Facebook now. Instagram and Snapchat is not a substitute to Facebook. Those two apps are not like Facebook. It just an app where you can express yourself in pictures. I would think that Twitter is taking over Facebook. Many adults don't have Twitter so many teenagers are using Twitter to vent or say stuff that they don't want their parents to see.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Sarah. I do not think that Instagram nor Snapchat is taking over Facebook, because they are use in completely different ways. Personally I think it is great that adults are joining Facebook because the world today is based around technology, and if people are not up-tp-date on technology, people really do not have a real grasp of what is going on in the world. I really think because adults are now using Facebook, teenagers are moving away from Facebook, because the teens are not necessarily posting the "right" things. Facebook in my eyes, was made to connect with friends, and post things that are going on in lives. Facebook is not to show how much alcohol consumed the night before.
