Automatic tweeting after death?

Apparently, there is a new social media experiment called LivesOn that stores all of your previous tweets and creates a computerized version of yourself that tweets on its own, including after you have passed away.

A little strange if you ask me, I don't think people would take it too well seeing someone they loved or even knew continue to tweet or post anything after they had passed..

From the article, it seems as though the experiment is purposefully mocking the path that social media is  heading down, however, I don't doubt that there are thousands (or millions?) of people that would actually be in favor of LivesOn.

  1. I do not agree with what media is doing. When someone dies... Let it be. Don't keep trying to keep them "alive" by using LivesOn. It is part of the life cycle. This creeps me out!

  2. While I think this is a cool kind of experiment I don't think it should be used on the twitter pages of those who have died. I personally think that if a person passes away then their twitter page should be deleted or remain the way it was last used. The idea of tweeting from someone's account after they have passed is creepy and disrespectful to their family members.
