Fuel for the debate

Over the last few months the headlines of papers have been flooded with stories of public shootings. These devastating shootings, such as the ones in Aurora and Newtown, have re-sparked the debate on whether or not the United States should have stricter rules on guns. On Tuesday, another shooting occurred in California which left four people, including the gunman himself, dead. Do you think that the US can find a solution to prevent future shootings without causing an uproar among gun activists?

  1. I agree that this is upsetting, and do think there should be stricter rules, but you have to think of the small children; do we want them to be walking through metal detectors or something else, making them feel that school, a place they enjoy being, feel unsafe. I think we need a brilliant plan of attack for this issue that needs to be well thought out, but in a quick amount of time.
