This article describes an upcoming policy Pandora will be implementing. Pandora will start capping media usage at 40 hours per month. They are trying to overcome the rate at which royalties are rising. Many users don't use more than 20 hours, however those that do use the maximum amount would have the opportunity to pay 99 cents for unlimited media usage for the rest of the month. Do you think this is a good solution for Pandora?

In theory, I think this is a good solution for Pandora to reasonable make a profit, because as of now their sole income come from advertisers. However, it will be unfortunate for us music listeners who use pandora as their main or only music outlet. I know most people are going find and gravitate towards substitute outlets in which they wont have to pay anything to listen to unlimited music. It will be interesting to see what Pandora does and how the public responds to it.
