Illinois passed a law on Sunday allowing illegal immigrants the right to drive. An estimated 250,000 people are currently living in Illinois illegally and this law will allow them to apply for a temporary license that is good for up to three years. They will be required to get training and insurance but the controversy surrounding this law is the possible fraud cases that could arise. Illinois is not requiring these future drivers to be fingerprinted so as not to discourage men and women from applying for a license. However, those opposed to this new measure have brought up the large number of fraudulent cases in New Mexico, Washington and Utah where the law is also in effect. Do you think that this new law is beneficial to the country and the immigrants that require transportation or do you believe it is too much of a risk?
