National Association of Broadcasters president Gordon Smith will be among the entertainment industry leaders who’ll meet with Vice President Biden today to discuss the role of mass media in gun violence. Executives from the motion picture, cable, and movie theater industries will also attend the meeting, along with former FCC chair Michael Powell. Biden is heading a commission that’s working to come up with recommendations on gun policy. The NAB last month said it backed a congressional proposal to enlist social scientists to look at the link between media and violent behavior.

What do you think the role of mass media is in gun violence?

  1. The image of using guns in all types of technology from TV to video games and movies is displayed so often that it is seen as normal to most people to use guns violence
