Pastor Vs Waiter

How do you guys feel about this? I feel bad for the waiter! It wasn't his/her fault that the gratuity is automatically added into the bill, the pastor came off as pretty rude.

  1. Working in the restaurant world I am totally on the waiter's side, just because I completely understand where he is coming from. I know in the restaurant I worked in, the 18% was automatically put onto the bill so that the server was not getting "played". Servers do pretty much everything besides cooking your food, and clearing the table. From being personable, taking drink orders, bringing your food to the table, doing side work, getting ready to do closing duties, as well as taking care of at least five other tables, that have anywhere from two to twenty people, I think that anyone for that matter should be able to tip 18% and not complain, as it was stated in the article, everyone said the waiter was great. my thought, if you do not want to pay, and complain stay home and cook your own meal.

  2. Totally on the waiter's side, the gratuity is automatically added. What can he do? And what is the "Pastor" trying to say he gives 10% to God, like if God gave only 10% of his life for us. What a terrible man

  3. What the Pastor did was terrible. Since it was stated in the article that the waiter was great there is no need to complain. If the customer has a problem with the 18% tip, than he should talk to the manager of the restaurant, not leave a note on a receipt.
